Where Your Donation Goes
When you give, you’re helping people with paralysis reclaim adventure, independence, and purpose. Donations support Adapt’s Adventure Prep Program and other vital initiatives that help individuals push beyond what was once thought possible.
From customized training and coaching to specialized equipment, support, and scholarships—your generosity makes these life-changing experiences possible.
Whether it’s catching a wave, carving a mountain, or simply feeling free again, every dollar brings someone closer to their next breakthrough.
Who is Adapt?
Adapt Functional Movement Center is a nonprofit rehabilitation and performance facility in Carlsbad, California. We specialize in training people with spinal cord injuries, ALS, MS, and other neurological conditions.
Our mission? To get people back to doing what they love -whether that’s climbing mountains, chasing waves, or simply reclaiming independence. Since 2017, we’ve provided over $1 million in therapy through our scholarship fund and supported hundreds of individuals on their path to recovery and adventure.

Meet
Chris.
Before his injury, Chris Waker lived for big lines and steep descents. Snowboarding gave him freedom. Adrenaline. Identity. A spinal cord injury could’ve ended that—but Chris never stopped sending it.
Today, Chris still rides waves and mountains. He’s found new ways to push limits through Adapt’s Adventure Prep Program—a specialized training initiative that helps people with paralysis return to life and adventure on their own terms.
“The competitor in me never left. Pressure’s on, time’s ticking, drop in and send it.”
